For incoming students
Applications for living-learning communities can be completed once an incoming student has accepted their offer of admission from Virginia Tech and paid the matriculation fee. At that time, a housing contract will be made available to eligible students. A component of the application is expressing interest and applying to living-learning communities. Students may apply for up to three living-learning communities as part of the housing contract process.
Once you have accepted your offer of admission to the university, we encourage you to apply to a living-learning community through the StarRez Application Portal.
We believe in giving students all of the information necessary for them to choose the community that is best for them. As a result, applications are reviewed in cycles.
If you are applying to more than one LLC, complete all applications by the deadlines. You can make your decision when you hear from all of the communities you are interested in. However, all LLCs are offered on a first-come first-served basis. If you wait to apply, the community you are interested in may already be full. When a community is full, an update will be posted in StarRez.
Communities fill up quickly, so apply today for the best shot at your first choice LLC!

Students looking to join an LLC for the first time or switch LLCs:
Applications open November 1 and close December 1.
Students looking to return to their current LLC:
The application period is determined by your Program Director. Please follow their instructions.
All students will receive a decision by December 5. Accepted students must sign a housing contract by January 2 to secure a place in the LLC.
